Hockey Day in Canada

Well I was hoping for one more HINC Boycott from the Canucks against the CBC and Hockey Night In Canada but apparently both sides have kissed and made up.
My opinion on what went down between Burrows/Auger and the subsequent commentary by Ron Maclean when he was interviewing Colin Campbell is simple enough. I am sickened by it.
Ron Maclean the long respected host of Coaches Corner went way overboard when he basically vilified Alexandre Burrows while at the same time was incredulous at the thought that Referee Stephane Auger would ever stoop to hold a grudge against an NHL player. The latter came as no surprise as Ron is a long time Referee supporter but the former is what has incensed many hockey and canucks fans across Canada and the US.
Burrows the week before was the NHL’s Player of the Week and he plays on arguably the best line in Hockey right now. That didn’t seem to matter to Maclean who painted Burrows as a Diver and Instigator and all around troublemaker, this was all under the guise of discussing the merits of the supposed Watch List that the NHL has on players with Colin Campbell. Ron proceeded to show a number of clips where Burrows had some less than flattering moments on the Ice. Now let me be clear here Burrows has never been suspended by the NHL for anything. So why then would he be a on a watch list? I don’t fucking believe it! I think Maclean was so incensed that someone would call into question the integrity of an NHL referee that he thought he would deflect that and put the credibility question upon Burrows shoulder instead. Hell his running commentary during the clips was a thing of beauty, he went so far as becoming a mind reader. He could literally read what Burrows was thinking and on top of that he stated that “We” could all agree that Auger would never say anything like Burrows claimed.
After the country basically took Burrows side in all of this Maclean had no apology, maybe a little understanding as to why Canuck fans would be upset but no apology. Canuck GM Mike Gillis doesn’t want and apology but I know I do. I want Maclean to own up to it. That is if he’s able to speak while flossing his teeth with Colin Campbells cock. Ouch!
In all fairness to Colin Campbell I think he was as shocked by Macleans attitude about the whole situation as the rest of us were. I think he just decided to let Ron hang himself and kept quiet. Ron was definitely steering the ship that night.
Oh Well it’s all over now I guess.
Tomorrow night the people of Toronto get to see a real NHL team.
Oh and it will be a laugh to see which team gets the win in the Calgary/Edmonton game. Hahahahaha!
